FedTech is a venture builder that accelerates the growth of its companies by providing them bespoke training, mentoring, and actionable frameworks to support the missions of federal agencies. The xTech 3.0 Accelerator will run from October 2019 through March 2020 for xTechSearch 3.0 Phase IV participants, culminating in the Phase IV Capstone at the AUSA Global Force meeting. This program is designed to help xTech winners be successful via education, mentoring, networking, and community building. The ultimate goal of the xTech Accelerator is to develop xTech winners as quickly as possible so that they can transition technologies to the warfighter. xTech Accelerator will also include guidance on product development for dual use technologies, and connections to private technology development programs.
FedTech unlocks the benefits of technology through entrepreneurially minded people. FedTech was born in 2015 after participating in the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program when we saw an opportunity to commercialize the ~$150B/year in federally funded R&D. Many inventions we use today were created as part of a federally funded R&D project including what we know today as SIRI, Google Maps, GPS, the internet, baby formula, lithium-ion batteries, smartphone cameras, and countless more. The FedTech team consists of seasoned entrepreneurs; early-stage startup investors, advisors and mentors; former U.S. government leaders in the rapid innovation space; former CXOs; and all-stars. Our primary sponsor, the National Security Innovation Network (formerly known as MD5), works to build networks of innovators that generate new solutions to national security problems.
