Camera Assisted Monitoring System (CAMS)
Developed by STS — under contract to the Army Night Vision Electronic Sensors Directorate and in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard for multiple security needs of the Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security — CAMS is a distributed, security monitoring, threat detection, assessment, and reporting system. CAMS can either be configured to provide a rapidly field deployable complete stand-alone surveillance and monitoring system, or an add-on capability to augment an existing security system. CAMS can be scaled up from a local level to a global level to provide an integrated, real-time, security situational awareness picture. The system is flexibly designed to support the global war on terror, force protection missions, site or unit layered-defense security needs, border management operations, emergency response operations and other security operations. STS integrates leading-edge visible and infrared commercial and military imaging systems together with radar and advanced biometric identification technologies to produce a distributable common operating picture enabling key personnel to see first, decide first, and react first to detected threats. A powerful force multiplier, CAMS increases the effectiveness of individual security sensor technologies by intelligently fusing a network of their individual capabilities into an integrated, single monitoring, detection, assessment, and reporting security system. The end result is a safer, more efficient security system — using fewer personnel. The commander receives increased security effectiveness while freeing up personnel for other urgent tasks. CAMS is also ideal for use at sites such as borders, ports, harbors and other points of entry, as well as, critical infrastructure facilities. CAMS can be integrated with application-specific capabilities to establish a comprehensive monitoring and analysis network. If your organization is charged with providing physical security and general information awareness at critical infrastructure, borders, transportation hubs, and ports, then CAMS can help you get the job done, 24/7/365, at a level of precision you may not have thought possible. |
