STS International is an innovative systems engineering and integration firm, is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals to support the DoD ABIS project, the leading biometric solution for the Department of Defense.

The ideal candidate will be a flexible and energetic individual in the Information Technology field knowledgeable in Red Hat Enterprise Linux or a Linux variant. They will possess a working knowledge of FibreChannel networks. They must be willing to learn and apply new technologies to assist the Infrastructure Engineering Team in the engineering and maintenance in a developmental test bed environment. Domestic and international travel may be required.

There are no provisions for relocation. All candidates must be in the Fairmont, WV commute area or be willing to relocate at his/her expense

Must be a US Citizen with at least a DoD Secret Clearance but be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Clearance (Pass an extensive background investigation).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration and administration of Red Hat Linux Servers and Workstations using Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Directory Server.
  • Installation, configuration and administration of Windows server and Active Directory.
  • Updating and patching Red Hat and Windows servers, workstations and applications.
  • Maintaining, configuring, troubleshooting storage to meet design requirements.
  • Creating and updating engineering documentation, defining detailed schedule tasks to meet contractual deployment timelines.

Certification Requirements:  Candidate must have current DoD 8570.01M certification or be willing to obtain one within six months of appointment as well as have current vendor operating system certification or must be willing to obtain one within six months of appointment.

Basic Qualifications:  To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years as a system or network administrator. Four additional years of experience can be substituted for the degree.
  • Minimum of seven years of hands on experience as a system administrator in a Linux environment.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with Red Hat Satellite Server and Red Hat Directory Server
  • Strong technical skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to create and maintain engineering documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Cisco networks
  • Hands on experience in either Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Knowledge of SAN architecture and storage infrastructure
  • Knowledge and experience designing and deploying DoD Common Access Card (CAC) authentication
  • Experience in a secure DoD, DoJ, or Government facility
  • Demonstrated progression of technical and personnel leadership
  • Position prefers a candidate with a current Top Secret Clearance
