STS International, an innovative systems engineering and integration firm, is seeking personnel with experience with automated command and control systems and/or an electronics background and recent deployment experience in Iraq and/or Afghanistan to support the operation and maintenance of Counter-Rocket, Artillery, Mortar (C-RAM) electronic systems.  C-RAM integrates the following:sensors; a local area network (LAN):a command and control (C2) suite. These positions are based in Afghanistan.  These positions are anticipated to be twelve months in duration.

Operators must have OCONUS deployment experience either as member of the Armed Services or as a civilian contractor.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities –

·      Focus will be on providing 24x7 operational support of the C-RAM Sense and Warn capability at OCONUS FOB Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC).

·      Support will include operation, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of assigned systems and equipment.

·      Perform preventive maintenance, checks and services (PMCS) of designated automated command, control, detection and warning systems, outdoors under all weather conditions.

·      Physically assemble systems and integrate systems according to engineering instructions.

·      May coordinate and assist with the set up of installation and repair facilities and equipment.

·      Use tools and equipment properly and with ultimate concern for personal safety and safety of others.

·      May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum/General Experience:Minimum of 4 years of experience working with electrical and electronic systems. Have demonstrated prior experience with automated command and control systems or a demonstrated aptitude to quickly learn and become adept at their operations. It is preferred that operators have experience with operating and maintaining DoD battle command hardware and software operating within an operational network.

Personnel with operations and maintenance experience with C-RAM C2 (FAADC2, AMDWS, WARN 2.0, CNET and LCMR are preferred.

Operators trained in Army Battle Command System (ABCS) are desired. 

Travel Requirements:  Extensive travel will be required. 

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and a completed apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.

Additional Candidate Requirements:

• Candidates must be willing to work in Afghanistan and live in austere conditions for up to one year with a possibility of extension.  Danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position.
• Willing to work a 12-hour shift, 7 days a week for extended periods (60-hour workweeks are the norm).
• Ability to pass a health and welfare screening and meet requirements as stated in FM 3-100.21, “Contractors on the Battlefield.”
• Possess a current United States passport. 
• Possess a valid US driver’s license in good standing
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 40 pounds or more.
• Ability to do physically demanding work including lifting and climbing in rigorous environments (including extreme heat and desert climates).
